Photography for a living...? |
Ok, I'm still in high school trying to think of my future. I love photography and would probably like to do it as a career. Not to boast but I am pretty good at it. Not the best but my teacher always has a comment on my pictures/developing. As I've said, I'd like to do it as a career but I don't know what to do with my skills. What are some careers involving photography? I'm not good at people pictures but with nature, I'm awesome [again, not to boast.] If I need a degree or something from college for a job in photography, what college(s) would be good? Any information about doing photography as a living or help would be greatly appreciated. And can you take an online college course for photography? Thanks. You don't need a degree but you do need to educate yourself and a degree sure can help. If you do not want to take 'people pictures' then you may want to check into Fine Art programs. Also, I would suggest finding a photographer that you can be an assistant to for a start. You will learn a lot that wayand it will help you make contacts. You can probably find an online course but I would strongly suggest taking a course where you have critiques with other students. It is another great way to learn, get ideas and hone your skills. Check out a summer photography workshop and see if you can get a job doing anything. You can meet other photographers and see their work and get their feedback on your work. Good luck and have fun! |
