I need ideas for the name of my photography business? |
I focus on weddings, unique portraiture, and wildlife/nature photography. I wish I had a website so you could see samples of my work, but I can't have a website until I have a name. My name is April (aprilphotography.com is taken). What would attract you, as a customer, to a photographer? Most photographers use their name for their photography so that it's easier for them to own the photos in copyright. Make it something personal to you. Some people prefer a "name brand." People know me as Smiley Productions Photography and love it. Everyone else is just another name to them not a company. -Eagle Eye Photography -Portraits by April -Lady April's Photography -My Camera Photography Snap Shot snappy portraiture Start your business with a laser focus: Pick one of your focus points and put that in your name. Try "The Wedding Pictures" or "(City/region) Wedding Photographer." Something with easy search term recognition. Then go for free publicity. Stick copies of your best wedding pictures all over your car. Stick business cards on corkboards in local convenience/coffee shops. Put some sort of discount offer on the card. Make a syrupy two-minute video presentation of your work and post it on YouTube--put "OMG" or "pwned" in the title (young people search those terms all the time when they're bored). Stick with the free methods of promotion until you make some real money. Then--and only then--after you've got a reputation in your community--branch out by adding the words "and more" to your business name. This will take time, hard work and infinite patience. But it can and will work if you're consistently focused on one type of photography when you start. Let me know how you do! how about your first name and last name photography also i think "shots by april" would be very cute and easy to remember. lifefocus.com? aprilphotos.com photosinapril.com I don't much like names like "Snap Shot", "Flash", etc. Just because they sound a bit cheesy, but that's just me. |
