I'm trying to help a friend sell his wildlife and nature photography. Where/how do I start? |
He lives about 50 miles north of Detroit. He is going to craft shows and small town festivals but it seems to be the wrong type of exposure. His work is awesome. His photos come from all over the US and Canada. Some have poems or verses from the Bible. Or you can have just the photograph. They are in frames and priced VERY reasonable. Are there any businesses out there that might sell his work on consignment or something? I'd like to help, but this is out of my league. Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links. He definitely needs to open up his own website!!! He may have to put some effort into this one at first, but this one is fun and NOT a scam. AND he can do it from the comfort of his own home. Go to The Hot Tees ( http://www.thehottees.com ) There is a banner at the bottom of the page that is flashing and says *free set up *free stores. He can try setting up a shop for FREE! It's really good. The company they go through has been around for quite a while and they handle all the customer service, credit card handling, products, etc. He just takes the photographs, uploads them, and picks out the products that he wants to offer that design on. He can sell framed prints, t-shirts, mousepads, hats, posters, buttons... He will love it. First dump the Bible quotations--not everyone wants buy bible versus. Add that kind of stuff only if the buyer requests as something special U do for your customer. Next if you must add bible verses market to places that specialize in that product--like Bible stores, guideposts,etc. |
