Considering Sony Cyber-shot庐 DSC-N2---should i wait for something better???

im considering the Sony Cyber-shot庐 DSC-N2 because i have a snoy cybershot dsc-t1 right now (plus i just bought a 2 GB memory stick pro duo card--but, im not depending my next digital camera purchase based on whether it accepts memory stick pro duo) and it is really great. problem is that its only 5 MP, and when i hear 10 MP i feel that my camera is "old"

so, now im considering the dsc-n2, but i want your feedback. is there something better, like from canon, or nikon. or should i want for sony to come out with something WAY better, or even just more advanced so then i dont feel that i'm "behind" w/ my technology.

OHH, another reason of the dsc-n2, it features that no flash needed shot for like muesums and religious sites where flash is not permitted, which is something i've had to deal with, where i tried taking a picture inside Notre Dame in Paris, and it was sooo blurry, but later i figured out that you can do "framing burst" or something but i want this newer technology

ALSO, im not a professional photographer, but i would appreciate a camera that makes it look like professional pictures. thanks again

i appreciate your feedback

I own the DSC-V1. It's a pro camera. The only camera I would buy instead of it is the DSC-N2. It's amazing. Has 10.1 MP. 3" touch screen. It's not pro, so you won't need to deal to much with it...
It's very thin, and has a unique design. Because of that, and it's 10.1 MP and 3" touch screen, you'll have a camera that's far more advance than others to come.

i have the dsc-n2 and its a great camera... the battery last long too! Report It

You give valid reasons for wanting a "newer" camera. Keep in mind, More MP's may sound nice,..but more important is the SIZE of the sensor holding those pixels. what good is a 10Mp camera if the sensor is very small, and those pixels get crowded onto the sensor, causing pics to be grainy at higher ISo's anyway. You can still take a Professional Looking shot with an 8, 6, or even a 5 Mp camera if you have a good sensor and a good lens. That being said, What i read about the N2 is positive, but is it worth the price for the kind of shots you want to shoot? You have to decide that yourself.
I get very Good Quality Pics from my 5.1 Mp Fuji, and with the extension lens i can add, the Quality is close to the shots i get with my "Pro" Olympus E-500 DSLR(not quite, but close)

sony will be coming out with new ones this spring
