Anyone having an eye on buying Nikon D300?

It will cost from 70,000-100,000 baht or about 2,200 us dollars, even if it is made in Thailand. I think it may be cheaper in New York City or Shinjuku Tokyo. I think this is the ultimate digital camera to buy. What do you think?

Invest in the glass now and get one of Nikons less expensive bodies. There will be major sensor improvements within the next three years. Buy one of the newer products when they are released.

I am ready for it now. It will be a great addition to my Nikon system. For now it is the ultimate DSLR. In about two or three years we should have some new sensor technology which will bring the DSLR as we know it to a new level

The Nikkor lens is the very best...
regardless of which model you get or where you buy it,
just be sure it's a Nikon.

The specs look awesome. Unfortunately, it's a bit out of my price range right now, but it might bring the price of the D200 down within reach.

It seems to bring most of the power of the D3 into a smaller, more affordable body.

But for those who are getting one... man oh man am I jealous of you guys. Those are sweet camera.

I'm definitely getting one. For the past year I had been thinking of upgrading my D70 to a D200, but now I will wait till November/December to get the D300. I just wish it's not backordered till February, like the D200 was back when it just came out.
