In response to a comment Ara57 made concerning my question about digital cameras. Is it possible that the lenses I have for my Nikon n6006 (35-70mm and 70-200mm) will be compatible with one of the Nikon dslrs? The D80 for instance? Your 70-200mm will work on ALL Nikon dSLR bodies and the 35-70mm will work on all Nikon dSLR bodies EXCEPT the D40 (the D40 lacks an internal AF motor).
As Ara pointed out however, there is also the crop factor to consider: Nikon's digital bodies have a 1.5 focal length multiplier (i.e. the sensor is smaller than a frame of film.)
This means that your 35-70mm will effectively become 53-105mm on a digital body and the 70-200 will become 105-300mm.
This puts you in a bit of trouble regarding wide angle coverage.
You have two options: either keep using the 35-70 and add a 12-24mm zoom (effectively 18-36mm), or buy a new standard zoom. Nikon now makes a fantastic $1200 17-55mm f/2.8. I use this lens myself, but I'll leave the review to Bjorn Rorslett: http://www.naturfotograf.com/lens_zoom_0...
Please note that the 17-55mm is a 'DX' lens and that DX lenses are only intended for use with dSLR cameras. So if you decide to keep the N6006, you can't sell your 35-70 to finance a 17-55.

I changed my name when Y!A began to plaster it on the front page of the cameras section - they recently introduced sub-category leader boards. It's a vain attempt to draw an admin's attention to my profile and help get Sam's old account reinstated.
So far I've only confused the crap out of the other regulars. If they are auto focus lenses made in the last 3 years or so, possibly. Contact Nikon to find out for sure.
I know all the Canon EF lenses work on the Rebel XT, but the AE lenses don't! Hehehehehee
