How do i get my homeade viedoes onto Windows Movie Maker?

I use a Nikon CoolPix Digital Camera on Windows XP, it makes like 10 minutes videos, so I want to edit and add effects in Windows Movie Maker.

However, it wont support the file im trying to send over. I guess the video saves as a quicktime movie file. Windows wont take it.

I have used The Movie maker before and everything worked fine, but this is the first time ive tried using my own videos... its not working.

You will need to convert the .MOV files to .MPEG or .AVI , using another editing programme before using Movie Maker. My camera also shoots videos in Quicktime format and I use Broderbund MovieShop to do some of the editing and save the video as an MPEG file.

the only way is to buy the quicktime pro

you need a quicktime to windows media converter... there's a whole bunch of them if you search for that in google... http://www.deskshare.com/dmc.aspx was only the first one to come up
