Memory card error- card cannot be read?

I have a Nikon 4600 digital camera but my memory card has something on it as the first picture which shows the error, "Warning!! This card cannot be read." so i would have to shut off my camera. IAlso when i look at the pictures on my computer, there is nothing on that first picture so i have no idea what it is. I never got this error before so please help me fix this problem. Thanks.

Try reformatting the card.. Sometimes things get screwy and it wont let it read it. OR maybe there is some dust on the card or in the camera.

This happened to a friend of mine on her camera. When we deleted everything on the memory card it worked fine again. I think the only thing she had done is turned the picture when she looked at it on her computer and then it would not open on the camera.

The first person's comment reminded me of this exact problem I had with one of my customers. If you edit the pictures in any way (like turning the pics on your computer) the camera will not be able to read the image anymore. I'm not positive that the newer cameras still have this problem because the camera I saw it happen on was quite old. But I recommend you don't modify the pics at all if you still want to view them with the camera.

You should still be able to download them and access them through the computer, however.

think you need a new memory card talk to your camera shop have them check it out hope this helps.
