Which Camera to Buy?

I wanted to buy a digital camera and i came down to three choices
1. nikon coolpix s3
2. Sony Cyber-shot DSC
3. HP Photosmart R927

My requirments are not too much i am just looking for an easy to operate camera which has good picture taking abilities and excellent zoom. I wanted to know if the nikon was a good choice over the other two.

the second option is Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W35

I'd go with the Sony Cyber-shot DSC , If you want it I saw it on sale at the Ritz Camera site, they also got some promos at http://www.prioritycodes.com/Electronics... for a discount

I highly recommend the Nikon Coolpix. It got the top ratings in Consumer Reports. I would recommend checking out the ratings on www.consumerreports.com. Goodluck!

i personally do not like the hp tyle I would go with a sony cyber shot camera I have one with the 3.0 LCD inches screen and they are great easy to operate camera an 8.1 MG pizel. and Nikon are excellent too the company had been arond for over 40 years now they do very well with cameras. so either one wold be good.

Nikon isn't as good of a company as it used to be.
Also Nikon only makes good 35mm cameras anyway.

Sony is the way to go. I have returned 3 different digital cameras before I got my Sony cyber shot.

It is easy to operate and takes excellent pictures.

SONY Cyber - shot dsc

i would prefer the sony cybershot dsc100 because of that huge 3 inch screen and image stabilization. or the dscw200 because its 12.1 mp and image stabilization. 12.1 mp!

The Nikon is good but I would go with the Canon A550
It has a 4X zoom and takes great pictures..

Google it... and you'll see

also to see samples go to www.pbase.com

By your criteria if excellent zoom means lots of zoom, go with the camera I bought. About $300, 5 megapixels, 12X optical zoom, excellent 8X10s when enlarged, comes with batteries and charger, has image stabilizer, 1 sec delay between shots. It's Sony CyberShot DSC-H2. Very good on batteries.

I would go with the Cyber-shot I have only used sony cameras, and they have reat zoom, the controls are very easy, and the quality is very very very good, they have great sensitivities, this way you can take pictures in dark areas without the use of disturbing flash, and the price is reasonable,

if any cyber shot i would recommend it would be the

s500 or the s600

We can't really give you a fair answer here. "Sony Cybershot DSC" is what Sony names ALL of its cameras, except their dSLR. We need a model number to do a proper comparison. Sony makes a number of nice cameras.

For Nikon, the S3 is getting kind of dated. Consider the S500, which will list for $300 and probably sell for less "on the street." The P5000 should restore some of Nikon's P&S credibility.

I like my Nikon. It is simple to use, durable, and they have great support in case you have a question. Zoom is great, no problems with it ever.

Well definitely a Sony. Nothing but a Sony. The Coca-Cola of Digital Camera. The Real Thing. Well as you can see, I am an avid unashamed biased Sony fan. Check it out http://www.geocities.com/lcming/sony or http://www.geocities.com/lcming/cameras
