How do i resize my photos?

am using adode photoshop if that helps,i have a nikon digital camera and it keeps taking really big pictures which takes a while to send(like 2.1mb) i need to get them down in size can you help? can you explain in details

yeah i am using photo shop just don't know what to do am not much of a computer geek

ah, i can give u a really really simple way to shrink them ....
first put the photo on your pc like the desktop
rightclick and hit "edit"
hit "file" then "save as" jpeg
dont change anything just confirm to overwrite
...this will shrink the pic down 1/2 to 2/3s' it original size :)

use photoshop

by using photoshop
1. open new page
2. open picture
3. drag picture onto the new page
4. on the new page, (there should be another box that has layers) make sure you are on the correct layer. then press ctlr t
or if you using an apple press the apple sign then t
now there should be some small boxes on each corner of the pictures
5. move mouse to the corner and there should be diagonal arrows click and drag mouse to either make the picture bigger or smaller.

First of all you can adjust your camera to take smaller pictures. You will have to check your manual to see how to do this for your camera.

In photoshop you can adjust them in this way.

Once you have opened the photo go to "IMAGE" on the tool bar then "Image size". This will open a window where you can change the physical size and resolution of the image.
If you are sending photos to be viewed only on a computer screen than 72 dpi is fine if you want them to be able to print it 150 dpi is usually decent.

The easiest way on Photoshop is under file, "save for web". It will show you the original picture, and the resized picture in close-up, side-by-side. You get to choose the quality, then it will adjust accordingly. If you want to save your original as is, choose another name for the reduced size copy.

We have the same problem. We have a Nikon also. We use a software like Irfanview.

in photo shop cs2 you can

1) file-save for web and size at a lower quality
2) file-save-name the file-select lower resolution about 5 or 6
3)go to help- resize wizard- select for web or print and follow the on screen prompts
