Old vs new camera? |
Can you use an old 35 mm camera lens from a minolta maxxum 5000 on a new digital camera such as the nikon d40x? The correct answer is NO! NO! NO! yes..u can....who is stopping u? I haven't ever used minolta or nikon, I use canon. But to the best of my knowledge you could never use minolta lenses on nikon.. regardless of film.. digital... old... new Chances are it won't fit, or if it does the focal length will be wrong! But what's stopping you trying it? You won't hurt the Nikon. NO. Most 35mm lenses are not compatible with digital SLR cameras. Especially when you try to mix manufacturers. Nikon cameras will take most every Nikon lens ever made, with some degree of compatibility. But the Minolta Maxxum lenses won't fit any Nikons or Canons or current DSLR's, with the possible exception of the Olympus cameras with adaptor. Even then, they'll be handicapped and not fully functional. If you are shooting a Minolta lens mounted on a Minolta body, then you can use the Nikon as a lens rest. So, yes. Minolta mounted on a Nikon? No way! |
