I'm pretty indecisive and overthink things...... :/
So I've narrowed it down to either the Nikon Coolpix 7.1MP Digital Camera L12 and the Panasonic Lumix 7.2MP Digital Camera DMC-LZ7K from circuitcity. There Panasonic is around $200 (my approx. budget) and $20 more, has double the zoom, higher shutter speeds, an orientation sensor, higher iso, supports dpof files, and weighs twice as much - 8 oz. Worried it might be kinds bulky. Rated as 4.5 out of 5 from 4 customers) With the Nikon I can get a 512mb sd card for free which is around $20 normally, more modes including burst mode, is vista compatible, supports wav files, small + 2x as lighter, and got a 4.1 from 4 customers. I'm leaning toward the Lumix. The LCD screens for both were considered average to poor with average battery lives. Thanks for helping me out!! I'd go with the Panasonic..
bigger zoom, image stabilizer..
I think a better camera It all depends what your planning to take pics of.
Sports? Portraits? Action?
Mega-pixels and price don't tell you too much. If the camera doesn't read light too well, your screwed for action and sports shots.
For Portraits, you don't need a fast shutter. But you will need that fast shutter for action shots.
The Rat both model are very nice. choose what makes you comportable. Faster shutterspeeds don't mean much. But keep in mind that you'll need that if you take a lot of outdoor shots. I've seen my friend's shots taken outdoors and they turn out nearly completely white. Anyway, weight isn't a large factor here, all compact cameras are reasonably light. Don't but the Nikon because it's a very limited budget camera. It will definitely not work in low light. The Panasonic will be a better camera overall. The Nikon L12 is one of those cameras with only one mode: auto. You can't really do much with that camera. |
