I am curious as to others opinions of the best "walk around" digital camera lens. What do you think?

I use a NIKON D2X and am always looking to improve and learn from others

For the D2X you have 3 choices:
the Nikon 17-55 F2.8 (permanently on my D200)
the Nikon 28-70 F2.8 (too long for me)
the Nikon 18-200 F3.5-5.6 (too much of a concession)

I like the other answer of a 17-55. Right now on my film camera, I have a 55mm and love just using that. I also have a D100, but the conversion ration would make that a 75mm (estimated) lens.
