I'm trying to transfer my pic's from my digital camera to my comp.? |
Nikon went through my comp. w/ me & determined that although I have a folder labled "CABS" there is nothing in it.They said I have to take the comp. back to were I bought it & have "CABS" installed. It's an old comp.I don't even know if the place is still in business. Is there a way to install it @ home? Thanx all.I'm not very versed in these things.I'm trying to learn.I have the USB adapter, but when I plug it into the comp. & camera the comp. dosen't pick up the camera.Nikon said it's because I don't have "CABS".I have WINDOWS ME.I don't think I have a flash card. It's a Nikon cool pics camera.I'm using picture perfect to try to transfer the pic's. Well sweet girl.... the best thing to do since you have an old computer is do this.......... get on to Google.com and type in Picasa software... when it comes up... download it..it's free.... this is a picture holding software... it's very easy to use.... then you will have to buy a little unit at Office Depot that you can put your digital memory card in directly from your camera.... there is a very nice one called Sandisk... it holds four different size cards.. Do I get to see them? if your camera has a flash card inside, then you can get a cheap flash card reader that plugs into USB on your PC. you can then never play with software issues, but just unplug the card from the camera, plug it into the PC reader, and the PC looks at it just like it is another hard disk. you camera should have come with a cd rom which will contain an edit programe, you should also have been supplied with a usb adapter, when plugged in the computer should pick up the camera. most people use nero express. IF IN DOUBT ASK THE WINDOWS FORAM LISTED BELOW We need more information about your computer, like which operation system are you using now. Not sure what your refering to cabs? i'm guessing they were talking about the cab files windows uses when it installs itself, and uses when it installs new drivers. if that's the case, then you should find them on your windows cdrom. just put it in the cd drive when it asks for it. I think this is in the wrong area - nothing to do with programming. |
