I am willing to spend up to 1500 for the best digital camera I can get. It must have 28mm wide to over 300.?

I have a Nikon 8800 and reasonably pleased but it is 35 mm wide angle...not enough. Nor is it fast enough. I need speed and low noise from a high iso rating. Suggestions?
Jim

I presume you know on a digital DSLR in this price range it will have a crop factor of 1.6 . So 28mm will not be that wide at all . Most Kit lens now are 18mm wide end .
Got for something like Nikon D50 or Canon 400d . I would say the canon is better for High Iso & have wider range of lens .

Go for something like a Digital SLR camera, they are approx in that price range, or slightly lower. Digital SLR cameras also allow you to put basically any type of lense you would ever want on it (of course you have to purchase them seperatly).

Cannon might be a good one to look at, I also think Nikon has some Digital SLR's as well.

Best of luck and happy picture taking!

The only lens I can think of is the Nikon 18-200, you could put it on the D40, which gets in you slightly above budget.
