How do I get pix from my digital camera onto my computer? I COULD read the guide, but I HATE that.?

Got a Nikon Coolpix & a 4yr old Dell. THEN, tell me how to SEND.
I hate instruction manuals...

What is the difference in reading the manual that came with the camera and reading it here?

If it came with a cord.Plug the cord into the computer and the camera.Need a program for that too.Should have come with one to program on the computer.Then follow directions.Put them in a file(pictures,or something).Then you can do whatever.

There should be a cord with a USB end that goes into the computer and the other into the camera. Put each end into the camera and USB port of the computer respectively then turn the camera on (computer should already be on.) The computer will recognize new hardware, if you go into My Computer you should be able to see the new drive (the camera) and click on that you will be able to access and move the pics onto the computer.

Use the guide if not you will have to read what suggestion you get , What's the difference the guide will be Moore handy.

It should have come with a USB cable that hooks up to your computer. IF you have Windows XP and it is up to date it should automatically read your camera. Than a screen will come up and ask you where you want your pics. If you don't have a USB you have to go buy one or you could buy a card reader for whatever card you have SD, XD Hyper Media, etc. etc. and hook that up to your computer and take them off like that.

Didnt say if it is a laptop. Its simple. Take the memory stick and slot it into a memory stick port on your laptop. Its on the left side of your laptop, it looks like a tiny disc drive. A message appears on your screen that something has been plugged into the laptop. Click on it and the pics are shown in a file for 'my Pictures' save them into a file. If its a desk top computetr, plug the USB wire from the USB hole on your cam to a USB 'hole' behind your UPS. Then do the same procedure for a memory stick. Good luck.
