Best Professional Digital Camera for Fashion Photos & Portraits?

I'm looking for a high quality professional camera, to use for outdoor fashion photography, indoor portraits, and small product shots. Which one should I get? I am considering the Fuji F5 Pro or the Nikon D200. Also, any recommendations on lenses with the camera you are recommending?

SLR's are the best although I do not know which would be the best model. Try to get one w/ a really big lense so it will capture more light, most likely it will be dark in there. I think that Canon would be the best.

There was a recent discussion about the F5 Pro vs. D200. A link was given that will help you decide for yourself. You may want to wait a few months and look at the D300 as well.

Basically if you want slightly soft images (some portrait photographers shoot this way a lot of the time) the D200 is going to be the primary choice. Most of us who shoot fashion/glamour need tack sharp images.

You will really need to do your own test to see which one will best suit your shooting needs. I have a couple of D200's and a 24-85mm f/2.8 lens which shoots about 90% of the fashion/glamour work I do.

I have an Olympus E-1, which I love. It's a bit dated now that it is 4 years old but it still holds up. It's a full metal allow body which makes it more rugged than many of the other digital SLRs on the market, which is great for outdoors. They also have some updated models like the E-550 which has recieved excellent reviews.

For outdoor portraites you may want to invest in a zoom lens. I find that the best portraits are the ones taken from further away with a zoom. It lets you get closer to the subject without getting in their face, so they are more relaxed, and the narrow depth of field blurs the background to make your subject stand out.

Try using canon cameras SLR
Canon EOS 400D / Digital Rebel XTi or
Canon EOS 350D / Digital Rebel XT

they can give you ISO up o 1600 that suitable for night speedy shots

but more important is the lenses

Try using lenses having a small f number such as f/2.8 the lower the number the brighter and more shiny with small depth of field (DOF) that provied blurred background and foreground, also better to have wide angle with foca lenght from 55 - 200 mm

Since "best" is in your question title, the new best from Nikon are the D3 and D300... Worth having a look at those. I'm no pro, but still drooling over the D3. :)
