How to let more light in on a nikon canera? |
i have a nikon 67mm digital camera i canot find where to adjust the shutter to let more light in for fireworks and stuff. if you can help plzzz comment. nikon d70 from japan Do you mean a time exposure? It really depends on your camera model. Anyway you're talking about the shutter speed, and for fireworks, you will need slower speeds. On an older, manual camera, the shutter speed dial is on the upper right side of your camera, near the film advance knob. Mode settings might be on a dial on the upper left side. Newer electronic cameras will have it in the menu. Look for something like "Shutter speed" or "Tv" for a mode, and set it to slower speeds, like a second. You might also have a "Bulb" setting, which means the shutter stays open as long as you press it down. Either way, you will need to use a tripod to reduce vibrations from handholding the camera at slow speeds. Also, use a smaller aperture (f16, f32, or as small as yours goes--larger number means smaller aperture.) On the D70, you have access to a full manual mode as well as a shutter priority mode. These are designated as "M" and "S." If you choose one of these modes, the main command dial (the wheel by your right thumb) will adjust the shutter speed. You can set anywhere from 30 seconds to 1/8,000th of a second. |
