How do I get a picture program for my digital camera (coolpix p5000)?!?

I recieved a coolpix p5000 digital camera for my birthday but it was bought off of ebay from Japan, so the software was unreadable. I tried to register my camera so I could get the program off of the nikon website, but it said the serial number was invalid to North America! So how do I get the program? It would be much apprecitated if someone could help so I could finally manage my pictures

Well I don't know about that but I do know Google has a free one called Picasso. I'm sure it would be compatable w your camera. I use it and it's pretty nice.

there are some terriffic free programs for photography online, check filehippo.com they have links to some great free programs.. :) there are several which will fit your needs.

I've had a little look around the Nikon site and it looks like they don't allow just downloading the software which I think is nuts. Why would you want the software without having a camera of theirs? What you may want to try is look for forums or user groups for nikon cameras and ask there if anyone can loan or send you a copy of the software for you to use. Another thing to try may be contacting the US customer support for nikon and see how helpful they are....

There are some free photo programs ... those listed above are good and there is one more you may find fun ... photofiltre ... it has a whole bunch of cool effects (filters)
