I want a digital camera with optical zoom x4 litlum battery anti shake 5 meg min 2 inch screen sd card?

would like a digital camera not a really expensive one but a decent one a cannon or a nikon has been mentioned as a good camera decent reasonable camera

Here are some that fit your criteria:

SIX MEGAPIXELS CAMERAS
Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 - 10X
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 - 12X
Nikon Coolpix S-10 - 10X
Canon Powershot SD700-IS - 4X
Ricoh Caplio R4 - 7X

SEVEN MEGAPIXEL CAMERAS
Nikon Coolpix L5 - 5X
Casio Exilim EX-V7 - 7X
Kodak P712 - 12X
Ricoh Caplio R5 - 7X
Samsung NV7 OPS - 7X

EIGHT MEGAPIXEL CAMERA
Canon Powershot SD850-IS

TEN MEGAPIXEL CAMERA
Canon Powershot G7 - 6X

So you have two general classes of cameras: the superzooms and the rest.

Of the rest, I'd choose the Canon G7, SD850-IS or SD700-IS. The SD850-IS would probably be the best real-world choice.

Of the superzooms, I don't know. The Panasonics are reputed to be pretty noisy in the images. I know I sound like a Canon salesman, but look at the S3-IS and get NiMH batteries so you'd have decent rechargeable batteries.

My pick of the litter is the SD850-IS.

I've got a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50 with 12x Optical Zoom. I am not much of a photographer but find the results with this camera are fantastic. Battery is mains charged and lasts for ages. Anti-shake, idiot proof automic settings plus all the usual shutter speed priority etc. etc. Can't remember how many mega pixels but the detail is terrific. Paid about 230 quid.

It really matters what form factor you want. You can get the ultra compact Sony T100, that camera meets all your needs except it uses Memory Sticks. Many of Canon's newer cameras get 4X zoom as well, such as the (compact) SD850 IS, which meets all of your needs. I don't know too many Panasonic models, so I can't recommend any. On the other hand, I wouldn't recommend Nikon since they don't have any models with 4X zoom, and their compacts are degrading in quality mainly because they're slow.

hi i have got a kodak easy share c643 camera with 2.4" screen 6.1 meg pixel 3x optical zoom i am not much of a photographer but find it very easy to use and the results to me are excellent especially if you have the printer dock as well which acts as a charging dock as well for the money i think it is excellent hope this helps

well, its nice to see someone who nows what they want when it comes to photography. if i were you i would stick to respected brands such as Canon, Nikon, Sony and Olympas. one thing i do think is that Compact Flash cards offer better quality pictures than SD cards but i have & SD card camera and i've had no worries so far. Canon and Nikon tend to use compact flash not SD but dont not buy a camera because of the card it needs. Look at the new Canon ixus and the pest one i can recommend to you is the Panasonic Lumix, they are fantastic !!!!!!
most new cameras have anti-shake now
hope this helps
