How do you load up pictures off of an SD digital camera card into your computer? |
I have a Nikon camera and a Compaq Presario desktop computer. The card fits into one of the slots in the computer tower and the light turns on once I insert it but what do I have to do next? If you have already installed your nikon software. you follow the on screen directions. you can also goto my computer click on the picture of your card reader located with your hard drive and cd drives. then open the picture folder and yor pics should down load automaticaly. But you should use your software that came with the camera. get a USB cable wire, from your camera to the PC, and copy all the pics. the card will create a new drive in My Computer go to it and it will have all the pics. then u can copy them (in windows XP) Double Click on "My Computer" and one of the drives should be your SD card... the pictures will be 1-2 subdirectories deep. im sorry and i dont mean any disrespect but have you tried looking in your PC's manual? im just guessing here but i believe that your PC will treat that card as a removable storage medium. so it should show in your My Computer. The card in the computer shows up as an additional "drive". CLick on "My Computer" and look for the card as drive F or something like that. CLick on it and selct the photos to copy and copy to the disk drive, usually in "My DOcuments/Pictures" You can get an SD card reader. This is best because it doesn't require your camera to be on to get the pictures. It can be frustrating if your cameras batteries are dead, and theres no need to waste them. Also using the card reader can be faster than using your camera. for copying or uploading ur pics frm digitial camera to ur pc.... is very simple ... and for that u need to hav a USB card Reader / Writer, which connects the camera and the computer physically using the usb ports..... and try to install the software before the conncetion is made,( u hav gvn wen u buy the USB reader/writer) |
