I have a Pentax 35mm camera with quantum lenses. Will the lens fit a Nikon Digital and if not how much$ for newNo. Pentax lenses fit only Pentax cameras, which is true of pretty much any manufacturer.
Also, AF lenses will usually only fit AF camera bodies, non AF will only fit non AF, and medium format will only fit the particular cameras for ewhich they were made.
As far as how much a new lens will cost, it depends on a lot of things. What type of Nikon digital do you have? What kind of focal length do you want? Do you want a zoom or fixed focus lens? How important is the quality? Etc?
Here are some links to some of the better online camera stores. They may or may not be cheaper than a local store, but they should be helpful to determine pricing.
www.bhphotovideo.com (my personal favorite)
www.smilephotovideo.com (where I go if b&h doesn't have what I need)
www.adorama.com (good source for digital equipment)
www.focuscamera.com (never used them, but i've heard they're good)
www.bwayphoto.com
www.ccicameracity.com
www.tristatecamera.com
If you need any help figuring out what you need, feel free to email me. Yes there is a way but the Auto Focus and Auto Aperture features will not function on the camera. You have to buy a M42 lens to Nikon AF mount. You can find them at the stores that have already been listed. Just call them up and ask for a M42 lens adapter for your Nikon. I use Hasselblad and Yashica lens on my Canon 5D all the time. No problems. You just have to be willing to shoot in manual or AV mode all the time. |
