How dow I download pictures from my digital camera to my computer. I have a nikon coolpix 4300.? |
Do i need a usb cord or just the memory card? and what is the process for the download? Two simple ways- either take out the memory card and put it into a card reader or connect it thro a USB cable. U connect and viola! its there on ur pc There are many ways, pick one that's the easiest for you. connect it using the wires that u got with the cam and then click on my computer and u'll see an icon of ur cam click on it and copy the pics Likely you need a USB cord to transfer the pics to the PC unless your cam has wireless communication. Newer models have that functionality (but installation on your PC is required). If none of those is available to you, you can use a media reader that plugs into a USB port. Nowadays a media (or card) reader can read from and write to several different types of media and is cheap too, just under $10 at Fry's or CompUSA. There should have been a cord that came with your camera to plug it in to your computer. Yes it would plug into a usb port. After it is plugged in turn the camera on and a hardware wizard should pop up to help you install. That is if your camera didn't come with an install disk. use the USB gord if you have it and connect it to your computer. . .ti should open up a new "drive" on your computer and you'll have the pictures right there. If you have a memory card, some of the newer computers (like the dell inspiron 6000) have memory card slots you can put them into. . . Most newer computers have slots on the front where you can stick the card from the camera. The computer sees the card as another drive such as k: or j: Just go to the drive and drag and drop the pics to your hard drive. I have a Sony that uses both a USB and a card. There are two solutions. The firs is you can connect your USB cord to your camera and compouter. The Windows XP should recognize your camera as a hard drive so you can go into My Computer and locate an icon that says Removable Drive. Double click it and you should then see the file structure of what is on the memory card. Explore the card to find the folder that contains the captured photos. |
