Older Nikon camera?? |
I have an older nikon camera, not digital. I put new film in it but then it didnt' work, so I added new batteries. I know that it isn't broken, but I can't wind the film to take a picture and the lens stays closed. help? That button on the bottom releases the lock to allow you to wind the film back into the canister. If the button is in, then you didn't open the back far enough to reset it. You didn't mention if it's an electronic or mechanical shutter. Try the manual mirror lock-up (usually on the front near the lens). It'll turn 2 ways. If it's an electronic camera, make sure the battery contact is free of crud. Use a pencil erasor to get off any green corrosion. Look on the bottom of the camera to see if there is a round "peg" sticking out. Push it in. Now see if the camera works again. I don't know what the thing is, but remember pushing it on my 1980's NikonFE when it froze up. Hope this solves the problem. What model is it? |
