I am a home user of digital camera and i have a nikon coolpix 4300. i want to buy a new camera can you help me here are some reviews. good luck! Most cams are good these days, Just make sure you buy one with a minimum of 3.2 megapixel's. That's what it takes to print a 8x10. go with today model canon sd630 it word the $$$ if u got enough cash. You might want to stay in the Nikon family, since you already understand their menu system. If you are ready for a real upgrade, maybe you'd consider an SLR... The D50 is a "great little SLR" from Nikon. It has a few "consumer friendly" automatic modes, so it will be an easy transition from your 4300. It still offers total photographic control when you are ready to take charge. Get a "decent" lens, such as their Nikkor AF-S 18-70 f/3.5-4.5G ED DX lens and not the "kit" lens. This pair will cost you less than $1,000 and you will be very happy with it. If you want more lenses for the same money, you can get this camera with two "kit" lenses that are decent, but not as good for the long haul as the one I mentioned. When you are ready to add lenses, the sky is the limit with Nikon. Get a 1 GB memory card, such as the Sandisk "Ultra" for decent write speed. You can get these in the $30 range. An "Extreme" is faster, but I doubt anyone would notice the difference except a pro. Always get a camera that comes with a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery and a charger. You dont want to buy the camers that use AA batteries. AA batteries wont last in a camera. |
