How can i make the shutter speed on a Nikon D70(?) go faster?

My teacher's letting me use her Nikon camera to go take some pictures. Its just that im gonna be taking pictures of me and my homies skating. Were gonna be jumping some stairs and some other stuff...........long story short, were gonna be doing sequences too. The camera does those sequences, ive done it before. But its trippin right now and it doesnt wanna do them.

What settings have to be on so i can do that. What buttons do i push or what? I think its a Nikon D70, thats what it says.

But how can i get it to do the sequence shots. Like the multiple shots?

Getting the right exposure has to do with the quantity of light, the f/stop, shutter speed and ISO necessary to capture the image in that light.

If you are shooting out doors at in the sun, you can use the aperture priority setting and open it up until you get a shutter speed of at least 1/1000th of a second.

If the light is lower than that, like in open shade or under lights, you are going to have to adjust your ISO up and shoot wide open .. even then, unless you are right under a light, you may be shooting as too slow a shutter speed to capture the action.

You can also shoot at the peak of action and usually there is less movement, so a little slower shutter speed will do, but this all takes practice .. just because you have a very good camera, does not guarantee perfect shots .... your skills using the camera are really more important.

Your camera will shoot at 3 fps, up to 12 JPEG images in the continuous mode.

Just follow V2K1's advice. Report It

Put the camera in Continuous Shooting mode (the button with the stacked rectangles).

You can set the AF to continuously focus by going to the Custom Settings menu and changing CS #2 to AF-C.
