Well, My father ordered a camera (Nikon D80) from this company at www.razzphoto.com
He called the company to make sure the camera was in stock, it was, so he ordered it for $585. The company DOES NOT give him a receipt or an email, they just give him a reference number for the purchase.
When he receives the package, he receives a Nikon D60. Today he calls the company and asks them why they gave him the wrong Product? AND they charged him $700 instead of $585. They told my father that the prices on the website are the prices AFTER the rebate, and that they gave him the Nikon D60 instead?... They also told him on the phone that the Nikon D80 is now $200 more to the current order if he wants the D80 instead of the D60. They even lied to him saying that the D60 is better than the D80 because it is newer...
What can be done? I don't think this is fair. They should change orders without telling us first. Stop payment on the credit card send the products back.
Then shop at a reputable dealer
Ritz
Amazon
B&H
Adorama
Fist of all the price of the D80 with a kit lens with a warranty and all the acerories it is meant to come with is around $1000.00 bucks. To be honest there are a lot of Camera scams out there and I am afraid that you just delt with one. Any of the stores above are rebutable. There are stores that sell cameras with out all the assories and try to sell them sperate for more. Or you get no warranty and the camera is 200 dollars off. Or they send you something different because they don't have what you want and hope you wont return it. DONT DO IT or FALL FOR IT.
Good luck and sorry.
Check this link razzphoto is on the list of SCAM companies as well as it's many different names.

Last Updated on: 11-OCT-07 I agree with the other poster but with a caveat:
Stop payment by disputing with your credit card company. But don't send the products back until it is resolved, as RAZZ Photo will charge you a restocking fee. This is baloney, as they sent you something you didn't order.
Working with your credit card company is the best way to go, as they will not pay RAZZ photo, forcing RAZZ Photo to come to terms with you.
Additionally, in your dispute, i would print out their web pages showing their displayed prices, including the price for the D60 as well as the D80. I'm sure there's an equally unbelievable price for the D60 on their website and if you print it out, it should help to win the case with the credit card company. No doubt the company will try to charge you for things like the battery or the charger (that are normally included with any camera) and you need to be prepared to argue that point as well. If necessary contact Nikon USA to back you up on what is included with the camera.
Good luck!! |
