My Nikon Coolpix won't stay on.?

My Nikon Coolpix L10 will turn on, but it won't stay on for longer than 2 seconds. Can someone help me?

When I get to stay on though, when I try to take a picture, it won't let me take a picture. The camera will turn off automatically.

Try this.

Take the batteries out for 10 minutes. Push and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Then put fully charged batteries back on the camera. If this works you will know by having to reset the time/date. If it doesnt fix the problem, you will need to get it repaired if its under warranty or just buy a new one if not. The cost of the repair probably is more than a new camera. Make sure that you have good strong batteries.

    I doubt this is an issue with your camera. It might be an issue with your battery being old and not producing/holding enough voltage. Try a new, fully charged battery.
