Camera got wet and now it wont turn on?? |
I have a Nikon Coolpix L10 and I was outside and I got sprayed with water well I was holding the camera and it got wet. Right after it got wet I brought it inside and it still turned on but the pictures was really really messed up. I then took out the batteries and memory card and then we put new batteries in and it will not turn on. Is my camera totally shot or can it be fixed?? Oh, so sorry to hear that...I actually never got my camera wet enough not to work but my sister told me that she messed up her cell phone by dropping it in water..Someone told her to put it in a bag of rice (I think instant not sure) and zip lock it for days without turning it on...The rice will absorb all the liquid in all the tiny can't see places...IT worked and she was so excited.. I have NO IDEA if it would work for your camera but I know I would try it anyway if it were mine..It can' hurt it but it might just work...GOOD LUCK!!!!!! I hate to say it, Carrie, but it sounds like your camera's fried. If it's even a little wet inside of the camera when it is turned on, the camera's innards will short out, potentially frying the board. You've got nothing to loose by letting it sit in DRY DRY place for a week or so and then trying again...though try a different memory card if you have one....but most likely it's toast as it was turned on when wet. Time to begin shopping for your new camera. I suggest one from the Olympus Stylus SW series since they are waterproof to 10 feet and shockproof to a 5 foot drop, |
