How do you adjust the shutter speed and aperature on the nikon d40? |
i've looked in the manual, but i'm too lazy to read it completly through, (haha, sad i know it would be helpful, and i tried to but i just want to use the camera.) and its not in the index. Quite simply, turn the dial to A ( aperture priority ), or S ( shutter priority ), and you can change them, but not seperately, all the other settings are automatically selected. However, if you'd like to be more creative, you can put the camera on M ( M,A,S are on the main mode dial on the top of the camera ). Once you have the camera on M, you can change the shutter, aperture, and iso, and all of that. Just make sure they work in correspondance with each other, or you'll get some bad images.
