I was at the library today thumbing through a book that contained famous or influential photographs throughout history. After seeing many pictures depicting graphic scenes of violence I came to a page that had its picture cut out of the book. I wondered what could have so disturbed someone that he or she couldn鈥檛 bear to let anyone else see it. I look at the missing photographs title, which had not been removed. It was called 鈥淎 study in nude.鈥? That鈥檚 right, it wasn鈥檛 the pictures of the Rwandan genocide, or soldiers killed by poison gas in WWI, or prisoners being beheaded in the boxer rebellion, it was a nude woman. I was shocked.
While I realize that this was probably the work of a religious nutcase; it really brought home a larger underlying problem in society today. You can watch someone get killed on TV, but you aren鈥檛 allowed to see a woman鈥檚 nipple. What if violence was as much as a taboo as sex is today? Would the world be better off? What are your thoughts on this?
There is nothing more beautiful than the human body (men and women). The religious nutcases of which you speak, think nudity to be a sin, seeing death is more suitable to them, at least they're dressed. Sad. If people didn't put nudity and sex in the same thought process, I think things would be differently. Good luck. Omg...see how people can take something so insignificant and make this huge hate issue out of it?!! You flipping moron! That photo was probably snatched by some 13-14 y/o boy to take home and wack off to! And here youre making this huge hate filled issue out of it!!! You are a crackpot!!!!!!
