Should they be offended?


I have a friend who is an amateur photographer and he likes to do nude photography of women, but he wants them to cover their faces, of he will just shoot form the neck down- now he says he does this because most of the time they want to anyhow, so it works out for the both of them. I can鈥檛 help but to think that he doesn鈥檛 want anyone to see their faces b/c of the way they look. I dunno if he is just crazy that way or what. I have heard some of my other male artist friends make similar comments like 鈥淚 would rather draw a woman and leave her face blank...鈥?What鈥檚 the deal with this, should a woman feel offended or what?

Sounds like a man who is seeing females as "objects" and not people.
The personality is the face, and he's trying to remove it from the material object that he lusts after.
For what reason, who knows. Maybe he wants to put a supermodels head on top with photoshop and Frankenstein himself a perfect woman.

You can't pick which parts to keep, a true artist works with the whole picture. Our Flaws make us beautiful.
The women have agreed to it, so what's the problem?
It could be for the woman's protection. If a photo sells, then everyone will know who posed for it. Protect the women's identity and save her from future comments. If they want to have their faces shown, I think they have a right. I believe when you take a picture to get everything in the shot and leave nothing out.
Amateur photographer.
Art can be offensive.

Suck it up.
i think it could be bc they dont want to get too personal with the "object of their art"
i mean, the lady is naked infront of you and for a while, you need to keep impartial.
Why be offended...the female form is the most beautiful...

The observer can then decide to fill in the facial features mentally.
