You kind of have it backwards. If you are doing photos to sell, you need to identify your market first. Or better yet, have a paying client before you take your first click.
The best way to know if your work is good is to show to New Zealand Magazines, Advertising Agencies, fine Art Stores, Art Studios, and why not the world wide web ? The biggest store window of the world....good luck
