Give me some examples for a TASTEFULL nude photo I could do for an art photography class? |
I want to do something nonpornographic. I want to do something that belongs in an art gallery, not a dirty magizine. Please help me find some examples of what I am looking for. Why would you need examples? If you want to take a tasteful nude photo, go ahead and do it? You'll know the difference between tasteful and pornographic just as well as anyone else would. Have you ever looked at Duane Michaels? hes a very odd man, tells a story with a series of photos but at times uses nude models (not sure if your wanting a full head on shot or just the use of a nude) anyway, there is one (the fallen angel) its pretty interesting... also you can look at Ralph Eugene Meatyard. This man is amazing... he is an artist in every sense of the word... he died pretty young but made some excellant pictures. A thought just came to mind. Picture if you will a nude woman mounting a mechanical bull. the bull is in motion. now you know there are different setting to a mechanical bull. Keeping it on high will probablynot get you the desired results unless you have a great imagination. But if its on a gentle cycle then you know you can make it very erotic but yet "tasteful". I would use an actual bull becaus ethat would be straight up violence unless it was a slow motion film. Speaking about gentle cycle I just got another idea. Girl naked and a washing machine during the spin cycle of the final rinse. Now here you have to be a little skilled. The washing machine must be double exposed to show vibration. And ofcourse she would have to have a big bashful smile on her face. This is HOT--- MAKE it happen and please send me a copy. My contact info is open. Oh My GOD. I just realized you wrote nonpornographic...tasteful. I mistakenly thought you wrote pornographic but tasteful because that would actually be a task. But just tasteful nonpornographic nudity is simply nudity without exposing private lover female genitalia. If its photo art then you want to focus on lighting and shade. The dark should not be so dark but the highlights should be strong. Dont use general light throughout the body but rather high exposure on one side of the body. etc etc. If your wondering why I didnt remove the "other" description above after realizing a mistakenly read "the word" its because it still makes for tasteful nudity. Check out some of the galleries on PBase at http://www.pbase.com - you can search for things like "nude" and everything I've seen there (there are thousands of galleries from family snapshots to fine art) is tasteful. There are some very nice galleries showing artistic nudes. Try a silhouette. Have your subject sitting, standing, doing a backbend or whatever you want but have them posed so you only see their profile. Then place a light behind them and bounce it off the background. Background needs to be white or light in color. set exposure for the background. me Another perspective on what belongs in an art gallery is the subversion of aesthetic norms. See Hannah Wilke's feminist critique of the fetishization of the female body. Art photography nudes objectify the body just like pornography. Art is just another institution. Robert Mapplethorpe and Edward Weston are perfect examples of how the body is turned into an 'art' object for consumption. Consider treating your subject like a human being instead of an object. John Coplans also overturns these aesthetic conventions of objectification, photographing his own 'ugly' old body. There is a very good essay by Roberta McGrath that critiques art photographic nudes such as Weston's from a feminist perspective in The Photography Reader edited by Liz Wells. |
