i have a 256mb memory card for my digital camera. i have deleted all the pictures, my camera says no image and i can't find anything stored on it when i connect to my pc. but when i look at the properties i only have 79.6 mb of free space on it. is this normal? whats taking up the other 170 mb.
it is a genuine olympus card. MAKE SURE (all of you out there listen up), make sure to format your camera memory cards ONLY IN THE CAMERA!!!!
This should be done on a regular basis, say once a month.
You will lose pictures, or any number of problems, unless this is done. Never, NEVER, format the card with the pc.
In this case, try formatting in the camera, and see if you reclaim the space. If not, get the card replaced under warranty. Try reformatting it. |
