I want to buy a digital camera with 5x optical zoom that is cheap. These two seem to be the best contenders that I have found. Anyone have experience/opinions/insight on these?
(From Australia) DO NOT go with the Kodak...long story short, I sent mine in for repair & they lost it for over 1 month. They finally found it & sent it back unrepaired. Their customer service is horrible if you ever have to deal with them. The camera was just OK. I agree with the person above me regarding the quality. I ended up purchasing the FE-240 about a week ago. So far so good. Has lots of options & is pretty easy to work (I'm still learning). I know I'm basing Kodak on a personal experience, however; if someone warned me ahead of time I wouldn't have gotten it. Google Teleplan. That is who Kodak subcontracts out to rapair their products. Check it out & read the reviews. Others had the same experience. Hope this helps...go with the olympus. Okay, I haven't looked at these models at all, but from what I know, I would highly advise against the Kodak. They tend to be really poor in low light. I've had several family members and friends that have been very unhappy with their Kodaks. They're also not very durable. Olympus on the other hand is a much better brand. Their night time pictures are comparable to any of the higher camera brands, still with difficulty, but not nearly as bad (you just have to be still!). Olympus has done well in digital and Kodak is still working (slowly) on improving. |
