Is there a way to make an ordinary digital a time lapse camera?

I have an Olympus D-520 that I would like to use as a time lapse camera. I also have a laptop computer I can use.

some cameras (like my Minolta A2) have this feature built-in. You can set the frequency and number of frames, sit it on a tripod and it will fire away. I've taken some nice little cloud segments.

Your camera does not have this feature. You will pretty much have to do the research to find one that does yourself. There are so many digital cameras out there we really don't have the time to look for you. My D200 does have this feature, my D100 does not
