I want to get a new digital camera but I don't know which brand is best.?

I have an Olympus right now that I'm not particularly thrilled with. I want something that's thin, lightweight, less than $250 but still takes nice pictures and records short videos as well. Anyone have ideas??

Canon powershot

Uhhh, Sony is pretty good I think. I know a few people that have Sony cameras and they like them.

a sony camera around 200 euro.

I got a HP Photosmart E317 Plus and I love it it's totally awesome! I highly recommend it!

I had a HP camera, very simple, not many features, but actually took great pictures, if you are just going for the pictures and not the features go for something like that, they are way less $200.

My favorite option Kodad 330 (whick replaced my HP)
less than $149 and takes the best pictures ever... very colorful, easy to download,
you don't have to buy anything fancy to get quality pictures, my sister has a very expensive Nikkon that honestly sucks...

Good luck

I and a co-worker have Sonys, we have both been pleased.

1. Stick with the major brands. Sony, Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Panasonic, Kodak. These brands are readily available and because they are everywhere, there is lots of competition among the dealers, so you can find a good price for one.
2. Stay away from Olympus or Fuji. They use the XD Picture Card for memory storage. This card is getting no support from the industry and it may eventually become very hard to find.
3. Make sure the camera powers with AA batteries. If it runs on special lithium or NiCad power packs, you will have the same problem finding batteries in 2 or 3 years.
4. Hold the camera in your hand before you make a purchase decision. Remember, if you don't like it now, you'll hate it next year.

You can find good cameras in your price range from all the manufacturers I've listed.
