i want to buy a good digital camera that takes amazing photo, with beautiful color, and everything, and with a fair price. i also want a good looking camera. please help??? i was thinking about lumix or olympus 770sw. can u please give me some suggestion. i would like a small one that could fit in my pocket, and again i want a good looking camera too. The best camera for under $200 is the Canon A550
* 7.1 Megapixel
*4X Optical Zoom
* Very good photo quality, noise levels low through ISO 400 (in good light)
* Well built for the price
* Very good performance
* LCD visible in low light
* Some manual controls
* AF-assist lamp, good low light focusing
* Good movie and continuous shooting modes
* Impressive software bundle
* Uses AA batteries; great battery life
* USB 2.0 High Speed support I bought my Canon A540 online at newegg.com for less than $200 and it's a great camera; it came with a 1 gig memory chip and a case for an extra $10. Canon's awesome. Mine is a 10 pixel powershot A640. It was only like $500 at London Drugs. have you tried www.kodak.com?
find a camera that you like the look of, now use www.froogle.co.uk or .com depending on your location to compare prices at online retailers. see what bargains you can get.
I'm currently waiting for an order placed in the middle of last month from kodak uk due to the fact the camera i ordered is the new c613 in black finsih they have that on sale for 拢69.99 plus a free 1GB SD card and when i ordered free shipping and extra discount on accessories. my total order should have been over 拢155, with discoun it was just under 拢117 if i ever get that order.
but the do have clearance models such as when i looked a 10X optical zoom camera 6.1Mp for 拢150 approx plus delivery at about 拢4.
they even do refurbished if that suits for even less money with or without the printer dock printer for small photo's.
it comes down to what you will be using the camera for. if you want a cheap camera for holiday snaps then a budget with low optical zoom is perfect. digital zoom is not important, you can achieve the same effect in editing software on your computer. the higher the optical zoom the better if you want a proffessional use camera. three CCD would be top of the line (in a movie camera, but i don't think they are available in a digital stil camera yet, but i could be wrong) a three ccd splits the light as you know via a prism with each ccd handling the RGB respectiely to produce superior quality images. but like i said this technology may not be on a digital stils camera.
don't get hung up on the xxMps unless you are wanting to print highquality at prints larger than a couple of feet square. then anything above 8MP would be advised. if you are only printing to small snaps for a photo album or to use on your computer screen or in web art or even on a digital phot frame under 5mp should be sufficient.
just a few tips not much help on exactly what camera. pay head and DO NOT confuse OPTICAL with digital zooom optical actauly moves the distance between the lens and the CCD to get a crisper larger image. digital zoom simply increases the size of the pixels in the finished picture resulting in a pixelated image at larger sizes above a 6x4 inch print.
I hope that helps. Both cameras are good ones. I would suggest going with one that uses the most common memory card, the SD.
Other than that, find one that has at least a 3x optical zoom (don't consider digital zoom, it is all smoke and mirrors) and at least a 5mp sensor. The Lumix, atheistically, is a very good camera. I really like the new TZ3. The Lumix series is pretty good, and looks good, too. That Olympus is also a very good, rugged camera. It's waterproof to 32 feet, and shock resistant. I was thinking about buying it once, before I got a Nikon DSLR.
Another good camera, with good reviews is the new Fuji F30. It has very good low light shots even at ISO 1,600. It has a powerful flash, a 2.5'' screen.
I had the Canon A640, and it too looks like an amazing camera, but once again, it falls apart at ISO 400, and is unthinkable at 800.

Pros:
7.1 megapixels
3x optical zoom
Shockproof to 5 feet
Waterproof to 33 feet
Freezeproof (-10 degrees C/14 degrees F)
Digital image stabilization Freeze the action. With high ISO sensitivity and faster shutter speeds, you can capture sharp, blur-free images, even if you or your subject is moving.
Cons:
The battery cannot be recharged when it's in the camera.
There is indeed a background, almost mechanical noise introduced when filming videos. It probably can be filtered out, as it's very constant and very low pitched, but it's mildly annoying.
Time between shots is too long--it takes several seconds to save each shot at full resolution.
The answer:
Once you realize that a compact camera will not give you the flexibility and creativeness that a DSLR will you will have to spend the money on a DSLR anyways.
I think buying a Compact camera is a waste of money. And from what it sounds like you need a DSLR
You can get a Canon Rebel XTi kit w/ EF=S 18-55mm lens for $100 more than you will pay for the compact camera.
10.1 megapixels. In digital camera circles, this is like saying a car has more horsepower than an older car. While this alone doesn't mean "better" pictures, in reality, combined with other improvements in hardware & software, the results typically are better.;
2.5" LCD panel. This alone has more than one advantage. Obviously that your pictures look larger in review.
9-point AF. The number of points are improved from 7.
Picture Styles. I didn't really appreciate them at first, but simply put, this is like the days of film, when we could use a "portrait" film or "landscape" film. For those that don't like to do a lot of computer work, these can be VERY handy in getting the right look in the camera.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/45... A camera that fits in your shirt pocket is a sub compact camera. They are fairly expensive. I suggest look into the
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2. Excellent 8X10s when enlarged. 3X optical zoom, 10 megapixels. Very good on battery life.
Another camera to consider would be the Fuji Finepix F30.
Cheaper than the Sony, is 3X optical zoom, 6 meapixels, excellent on battery life, very good 8X10s when enlarged. my suggestion

digital camera GUIDE
be sure to check titles on the left side
the guide should answer your questions If you want a "good looking" camera that performs well, check out the Canon Powershot SD850-IS, due out soon - maybe this week.
SD850-IS (IXUX 950-IS) Preview: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0705/070507... Even though I personally own this camera, I would still like to highly recommend the purchase of a Nikon Coolpix L10 for the following reasons:
1. Besides taking well-exposed hi-quality 5 megapixel pictures, it uses a standard set of rechargeable double AA batteries which last a very long time;
2. Has a 3x optical zoom;
3. The flash setting for "red-eye" correction is on the navigator wheel and not within a submenu;
4. It's very small and light;
5. Uses inexpensive SD memory cards;
6. The digital video feature takes wonderful "sound" videos which are noise free. It records the piano very well with it's built-in microphone;
7. It comes with a USB 2.0 transfer cable which you connect to your USB computer port;
8. And the price is a mere $120 [sold at Samy's Camera - www.samyscamera.com, and Staples.com.]
Good luck! |
