What is an affordable digital camera that takes....?

....good action photos (sporting events), night photos, panoramic shots and also has good digital zoom.

I am simply looking for something better than my old Olympus C-50 Digital Zoom and under $300.00 if possible as I am only an amateur.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Consumer digicams are not known for their great night/sports capability, especially under the $300 mark!
Also, stay away from digital zoom...what you want is optical zoom.
That said, Canon has a highly rated line of point and shoot, Kodak has some pretty nice offerings as well.
Try dpreview to get specs and ratings on many different cameras.
Many photo software programs have a simplified panoramic stitch function, maybe even the camera software may have one.
I think you will find digicams have improved quite a bit since your Oly C-50! Good luck!

I am not sure what exactly it is, but there is a Sony camera at walmart.com for about $250 and it had all those features. Hope I helped!

for that price range, you can get some great cameras. check cameraworld.com, they have reviews, pics, and everything you could want to know, plus you can sort by price.
