Question on Olympus camera?

I just bought a new olypmpus digital camera (paid alot for it) and It's not making clear pictures. I have to hold VERY still and the object can not be moving at all, then the pics look fine, but what if I want to take a pic of somrthing that is moving a little? How do I get clear pics? Is there a feature on the camera that I could change?

It's an Olympus Camedia C-7000

If your camera manual and menu does not have an anti-shake feature mentioned, then it does not have it. But holding it very steady should be somewhat drastic. It does not seem that you should be having this sort of problem.

You might consider returning it, and getting a Canon. Several Professional photographers that I know use Canon.

I own a Nikon Coolpix L1 that I bought at Costco locally for $210 that I am thrilled with. Shaking is not a problem, yet it does not have an anti-shake mode.

My previous digital camera was a low-end Olympus. It did not have this sort of problem, but it did have a charged CCD array problem, where I had to "discharge it" regularly.

Which Olympus camera? I'd need to know the model to help you further.

i didn't know there was a camera called olympas

Depends on which model you have. I have two Canons (A400 and S2 IS) and they both perform differently. Make sure the mode setting is correct for what you are doing and use the half-push technique. Push the shutter button half way to allow the lens to focus. It only takes a second of so.
And remember, these digitals are just not the same as a film camera. They are getting very good, but they are not the same.
Low-light photography with a digital camera is always a challenge.

Of course you can buy high-end digital cameras that will perform to nearly any expectation, but you will pay dearly for that.

I have model no. D395..
It doesn't take pics of fast moving objects and its real slow to take a pic but I love the color and clarity of my pics and i order my prints online at walgreens- after you order them they're ready in an hour and you pay at the store! I LOVE IT!!

I'm not familier with Olympus digital camera, but it sounds like the ISO is too low or your shutter speed is too slow. In regular cameras this would mean that either your film is ISO 50 or something low like that, or your shutter speed is set somewhere around 1/30 sec.
Try looking for a "menu" button on your camera and see if there is an option to change the ISO and shutter speed to automatic. Just brainstorming here but is there a dial that has options like s,a,m, maybe a picture of a camera, etc? If so set the dial to the Camera picture.
Good luck!
