My Olympus C-770 UZ (UltraZoom) digital camera has worked great for the last couple of years. Yesterday, it started playing up: it powers up, but stays in view mode all the time. I can see all the pictures already taken on the inserted memory card just fine.
But if I can switch the function selector to picture mode, or movie mode, nothing changes. It stays in view mode. I can no longer take any pictures! I've powered off, replaced the battery, the memory card, etc. nothing.
Has anyone experienced this behaviour? More importantly, has anyone successfully recovered from it? take the battery out. Yes, it happened to me twice in my Nikon D50. Partly it is my fault because I viewed my pics in rapid fashion. It kept up with my speed but I probably pushed it a little too hard.
I took out the battery and re inserted it. Everything was OK. You may want to try that. But you said you changed battery.
It is a bit like a computer. It is stuck (or hung). Software /firmware got mixed messages. Take it back to the shop. They will reboot it for you. No big damage. Just a resetting is all it takes. |
