Formatting a 1gb xd-picture card on Olympus camera?

I have an Olympus C-50 zoom digital camera and I recently bought a Fujifilm 1gb memory card for it.

How can I format the card so it will work on the camera? I have other Fujifilm cards that work with the camera, but they are a much smaller memory size.

I keep getting 'card error' even after I format the card on the camera. Help!

According to the Olympus webpage, the C-50 zoom can be upgraded to handle a 1 GB card (M or H type).
I think that involves a firmware upgrade...but it sounds complicated and I think you have to send your camera into Olympus so they can do it for you...and I don't think it's free.

You need to contact Olympus and ask them about the firmware update. Maybe they will send it to you so you can do it yourself...or maybe you should think of upgrading the camera instead (it's well over 4 years old now and quite outdated).

good luck...

go into menu and find format
