Which is a better digital camera, Sony or Olympus?

Which is a better digital camera, Sony or Olympus?

They both make good ones and bad ones. Check out a few of each.

Sony of course

sony

Sony, because its lens quality is nice,.... you can plug it into your laptop or computer by using USB cable cord. And at the end its S O N Y

SONY BRO....DEFINATELY SONY

Sony defiantly

Its sony :)

sony

Sony.
They've got Carl Zeiss lenses.
I've got an Olympus and it breaks my heart!
Nikon and Cannon are very good too.

Sony, without question, has better optics and overall image processing quality.

SIMPLE ITS SONY!

I would recommend against Sony.
They tend to use proprietary parts which make more money for them but provide no real benefit to the consumer.

Standards have more compatibility.

Olympus ofcourse

Brand choice basically boils down to personal preference. People who have used Sony and enjoy it will recommend Sony and Olympus users will do likewise.

You could argue that Sony has Carl Zeiss optics and did you know they make the CCDs for a lot of other camera manufacturers? They also have a bunch of special feature cameras like those using mini-cd/dvd for storage.

On the other hand, Olympus makes their own full blown DSLRs (and as they'll advertise, the only DSLR system designed from scratch, hence the 4/3 system). Olympus has also been in the camera market much longer (All the way from the old OM film cameras) and that experience should count for something right?

In conclusion, there is no better digital camera maker. Unless you have 2 competing models in mind, then you could do a cost/feature comparison with user feedback from forums like http://www.dpreview.com

Just to add, I've used both Sony and Olympus and they're all good.

Sony Love my Sony DSC-H1

olympus

PROBABLY SONY. THOUGH I'D GO WITH NIKON OR CANON.

olympus ultra compact cameras (I only have knowledge of ultra compact dig. cameras) has ridiculus noise levels and all and it takes horrible pictures. the ultra compact sony's t 5,7,9 take great pictures during the day but suck at night pictures because the flash is weak. but i dont know if olympus can even claim great day pictures. So in conclusion, Sony is better and if the new t 30 fixs its problem with the crappy flash it just might become the best of them all. but we will have to wait and see.

Sony wont stand behind their product,,,,,their customer service is terrible. Olympus will. The end result of a good product is the company that stands behind it.
