How do I upload videos from my digital camera?

Okayso, I have an Olympus digital camera that can take pictures and record.

I have a wire to connect my camera to the computer to upload, and I use a Mac. iPhoto automatically opens to upload stuff from the camera when I plug it in.

The problem is, when I plug it in and press "import" it doesn't upload the videos. I mean when it reaches the videos to import it doesn't make any more progress.

if the camera can be seen as an external drive by your computer, you can manually copy the video files.
