What is a good camera to buy??

Hi everyone, just got back from Africa and found that my safari pictures aint all the best, currently got a 4megapixel olympus camera, had it roughly 5 years. Was good when i got it, I need to purchase a new one but dont have first idea about them.

What exactly do I need to be looking for or what do you reccommend. Its only gonna be for personal use. Not intending to do weddings etc. But dont want rubbish.

The Fuji S700 was mentioned but it doesn't have shutter/aperture priority which is a great aide in taking photos.
Consider the Canon PowerShot A630. 4X optical zoom, 8 megapixels, will give you an excellent 8X10 print.
Also consider the Canon PowerShot A570. 4X optical zoom, 7 megapixels, has image stabilizer a great help for shaky hands.
Both cameras have shutter/aperture priority.
The A570 can be bought for $150-.
I assume you are in the market for a point and shoot and not a digital SLR.

The FUJIFILM FINEPIX S700 has gotten several editors awards in the last 2 years, I paid $260.00 at wal-mart 1 year ago, and on NEWEGG.com the price is down to about $175.00 or less now. It has 7.1 megapixel and a lot of features that the other cameras in this price range do not have. I've been very pleased with mine!

If you're looking for a DSLR I suggest the Canon Rebel XSi (450D), Canon 40D, or Canon Rebel XTi (400D).

If you're looking for a point and shoot I suggest the Canon Powershot SD1100 or SD870IS.

I bought a Kodak Easy Share 5 megapixel and it takes great picures. My favorite camera though is alway going to be my 35mm Canon EOS Rebel. Had it for 7 years, takes great pictures, but its not digital. You can buy digital versions of that particular camera...but those are more for professional use. Good Luck!
