Broken camera!!?!? olympus stylus 790?

I have the olympus stylus 790 SW:

and i dropped it yesterday on a hard floor. and inside, where you put the battery in, there's a small red latch thing that keeps the battery in place. but i just found that that red latch is broken. so now whenever i put in the battery in, it just slips back out. and i mean it still works when i close the lid thingy of the battery pocket. but i still would like to fix the broken part. do you think that it is possible to ask for a refund at best buy?? cuz it's been about 4 months since i got the camera..

i think i signed for one of those best buy plans..

Check your extended warranty. If it does not cover damage, then you will have to pay to repair the camera. Warranties by nature are there to take care of camera failure based upon components going bad, not damage due to gravity, fluids are miss use.

That said, your SW camera has some special features and one of those is resistance to shock. It won't hurt to take it in and complain that the camera you bought for just this kind of protection, failed after only one incident with gravity
