No one laugh!! What does it mean on my Olympus FE-270 when battery empty appears. AM digital camera virgin?

It means time to recharge or buy new batteries.I never go out on a shoot without at least 2 fully charged batteries.

Your camera needs battery power to run on. If your batteries are drained, then you will need to buy new ones.

The FE-270 uses AA size batteries. Ordinary alkaline batteries are not very good and very wasteful. So, for more cost effectiveness, you should buy rechargeable AA Ni-MH batteries (2500-2700mAh) and a charger. Your camera uses 2 AA batteries, so it's a good idea to buy a spare set and a charger that can charge 4 at a time. They drain when not used, so always make sure you give them a charge if you haven't used them in a while.

Or, you can buy non rechargeable AA Lithium batteries such as Energizer e2. They are quite costly, but provide much more power than regular alkaline batteries and are great to use as a backup.
