I've a video camera, records Mini DV, how to get this onto my computer?? |
I have a Panasonic Video Camera and the casette it records on is Mini DV. Theres an SD slot on there but I'm pretty sure thats only for snapshots. Check to see if your computer has a IEEE1394 (firewire) port on it. If not you can get a PCI card for it. Connect the camera to this via a IEEE1394 cable. idk i was wondering that too usually when you buy mini dv it should come with a disc that contain software program that will read your video ask your seller about it. I own a Sony mini dv it has a disc that contains its own program to record and edit your tape but i usually use other program such as nero7 premium software to copy it to my computer because it has a lot more feature for editing and converting video, just connect your firewire to your cam and to computer usb and you ready to go Only way is with Firewire. I don't know how big your harddrive is, but if you want to do editing as well, you might need to buy another harddrive as digital files are very big. |
