Why does transferring 2.0 GB take 30 minutes?

Is it normal to take this long? I have the SD memory card plugged into my Panasonic digital camera, and then the USB cable connects to the back of my iMac. Am I doing something wrong? This takes way too long!

I've moved 2GB on a Network at 100Mbs.....that took about 15 minutes...........yes, moving 2GB via USB may take that long

You didn't specify if you are USB 1 or USB 2.0

May be your computer or the digital camera is using USB1.1

your moving 2.0 GB! its normal for it to take a while.. you can have it go faster by getting a better processor
